FRET - OPTREDEN - BREAK

013 was the first 'try-out' in a package deal with the Beatbusters, but more will follow

The next one will be on 2 december at 'Het Witte Theater' in IJmuiden. Lots of people missed a really great party!

Our last gig in the year 2000 was in Hazerswoude. Weird night, some kind of bachelors club. We played in stead of Boter Ska en eieren cause they could't play. The ones that showed up for us from Rotterdam, Den Haag and Gouda, great! Maybe we can get you some free tickets next time. I was in bed with a fever :-(

We are having a break beginning half december. A few of our bandmembers are on a holliday. Everyone is back half january! This means we had to pass a gig in de Effenaar with Mark Foggo and others... We had a nice review with picture of Johannes Abeling in (FRET december 2000)

November 2000

HEINEKEN SKANK PARTY - FF WAT ANDERS - 013 WITH BEATBUSTERS- GROOTE WEIVER

There are shows coming up! At the 5th of november we were playing at the Heineken Skank Party at the Melkweg!!

With for example Stars of Ska (with ex-members from the Selecter, the Specials & the Beat. Then Venus Hill and Nucleus Roots. Also some American bands froom Moon SKA records, Ex Cathedra, Lubby Nugget en Shootin Goon. The Heineken Skank party is always one of my favourates, so it's great that we could play there! And there are good dj's like the Crawl dj-team an Dr Ska! It was great! Members of Stars of Ska were also enthousiastic about our music. They played really good. Really nice to hear al those songs again. We had a great night, too bad you couldn't be in two halls at the same time!

At 9 november we were playing live at the television program "ff wat anders" at the Vara! It will be broadcasted from 17.00 till 17.30. The television program will be presented by Maud, also known from the television show Honk. Take a look if you are at home! We had a great day. One day later, 10 november, we play at 013 (Tilburg) together with the Beatbusters. If you'e not finished dancing after Venus Hill and the Beatbusters there will be Ska dj's tot keep the party going. The evening was a bit hectic, lots of enthousiastic reactions. We went home after te Beatbusters, tired.............. Nice crew in 013!

Another day later. 11 november, we played at de Groote Weiver in Krommenie with Venus Hill and de Hardheid. It was a party because our saxophone player was having her birthday!!And it was a nice party. The audience was very enthousiastic. They coocked us a realyy nice meal. I see more and more ties lately :-) The Hardheid played good!


August 2000

LOWLANDS 2000

We were called if we could play at the Lowlands festival!

It was a bit of a hassle to get and keep everybody in the country on such short notice, but we managed!

At the 26th of august Venus Hill plays at LOWLANDS at the India atage at 19.30!

I also saw at the playlist: Dr.Ringding & the Senior Allstars, Beef, the Pietasters and Skank around sound system! And of course a lot of other bands, dj's and more!

Now we played at the Lowlands festival!!! It took some time before we could start but the audience was patient It was one big party It was a great gig!! The audience was terrific!! Thanx audience for this wunderfull day :-)

Juli 2000

BIJNA METROPOLIS + COMPILATION CD

It was a busy season. We almost played at the Metropolis festival in Rotterdam, with 70.000 visitors. Unfortunately the program was full but it was nice that they were interested. Would have been a nice last show for this season. Maybe next year. We really need a holliday so you won't see us this summer, we will be working on new material and will get ready for a new season. Keep your eyes open cause we will be back soon.

WINSTON - AMSTERDAM SURF HARD MELKWEG- DE BLIKSEM DEN HELDER


1 June in the Winston!! A very good night, a lot of people and new faces. We've played there a lot so we feel really at home!





Then we played in the Melkweg on Amsterdam Surf Hard togehther with

Good to play there!! The theme was Beach Boys so we played "I get around".

Good to see so many people dancing!!


In june we also played in Den Helder in a cafe called "de Bliksem"

CRAWL SKA FESTIVAL

In may; SKA (crawl) festival in the Tagrijn together with:

Perestrojska - Area51 -Macamba - Venus Hill - Son Of Blob - Rude Rich & the High Notes

A lot of SKA and dancing and nice bands!

And there's going to be an interview in the magazine Crawl, it's released just before queensday
