Karen goes crazy on her keyboard and produces all kinds of hammond sounds. Stefan as allways on flying V or Explorer, only this time with a lot of new effects. 
More good news is that we play with a 4 piece horn section again. On trumpet we have our Martje since december, on saxophone we have patrick who is also writing all the stuff out for the hornsection. On saxophone as well Kees from the dutch band Boter Ska en Eieren as long as he can combine it he likes to play with us. And just fresh as our last hornsection member we have Onno Hill on trombone (photo)! He also came the 4th of december, just like Martje, but he was injured to his hand for a while, but now he's back! | 13 December 2005 MARTJE OUR NEW TRUMPETPLAYER & BIRTHDAY SYLVIA !    We found her in the woods ... She came to play last week end we liked her and she like us so we have a new Hiller on trumpet! She is called Martje Hill! It's the birthday of our Syl today! Happy birthday! Of course from us all!! We start booking gigs again. The first ones are starting to come in. | 6 December 2005 VENUS HILL IS COMPLETE !! ROBIN COMES BACK!  Robin initially just stepped in the vacuum to temporarily help us out on drums, but things worked out so well that he offered to stay. It didn't take us long to come up with a unanimous yes. We've met up with quite a few decent drummers in the last two weekends, and were actually planning to meet up with some more in the next two weeks, but mutually decided to stop the bus.One of the founders of venus hill is back, so from now on we are no longer looking for a new drummer. Of course we're still a bit dazzled by the news ourselves but we like to take this opportunity to thank all of the applicants that came by the last weeks. More news about the growing new horn section is coming up soon! |

So since then this Italian who found his love in Holland is officially a Venus Hill member!  Also Patrick (saxophone player) will blow his tenor en soon also his baritone sax with us! | 9 April 2005 HORNPLAYERS JOCHEM & GUIDO GO THEIR OWN WAY + MUSICIANS WANTED  Jochem (trombone) and Guido Hill (trumpet) have decided to quit playing with Venus Hill. For the both of them it is not possible to combine Venus Hill with the lives they lead. Jochem is starting his own business and Guido has too many obligations in Den Haag. From the start, since 1998 they are a part of our horn section. We had a lot of fun! Of course we will miss them terribly. MUSICIANS WANTED So we are looking for new horn players. ! | 8 April 2005 ARTSCHOOLDAY  Venus Hill is asked to play for kids age 13. We play 3 times for a full house of different kids from Amsterdam at the Melkweg. It's a special day for kids to get to know culture and art in Amsterdam, and one of the things they get to know is Venus Hill. See the pictures >> AACHEN WITH JAYA THE CAT Then we get into the bus and drive to Aachen to play with Jaya the Cat. This show is organized by http://www.ska-town.de/. We love it in Aachen so we are looking forward to it! More Germany is coming up this year. We will tour in Germany in August and play on the festival SKA IN PARK near Hamburg. We will probably play in Rostock and Braunsweig. More news follows soon. The German CD will be released soon! !! |
| 30 March 2005 VENUS HILL ON SPLIT CD WITH 3 INTERNATIONAL SKABANDS  The German label ‘MAD BUTCHER RECORDS’ contacted Venus Hill to release a split CD with the German skabands ‘The Skatoons’, ‘The Baboonz’ and the Italian ‘Club 99’. ‘4 of a kind’ will be released around march 2005. It will also be pressed on vinyl. You can get '4 of a kind' at the website from ‘Mad Butcher Records’(www.madbutcher.net) and in the future at our shows. It will be distributed in a lot of countries. De bands will promote ‘4 of a kind’ in Germany. Italy and Holland are not excluded. Venus Hill will go to Germany anyway on their 'German tour 2005' in August this year. There have been conversations about the follow up of ‘WHATEVER!’ . It might be released by Mad Butcher as well. Anyway we are starting our recordings for a new album this summer. |

| 12 February 2005 GIG 12 FEB WITH "IEDEREEN ZOOO JOTJE" We play in Scheveningen in "de Vloek" with Iedereen ZOOO Jotje. Never saw them so we are curious. There's a ska festival in the Melkweg where we want to take a look 26 feb, www.dutchska.nl although we won't play ourselves NEW SONGS We are practicing two times a week and it works great with our new bass player. We are looking forward to try our new material on the audience! |
